Peppol on AMI Project
Electronic invoicing – UBL file
Since 1 January 2026, electronic invoicing has been mandatory in Belgium for business-to-business (B2B) transactions.
PDF or paper invoices are no longer accepted; invoices must now be transmitted as XML files compliant with the UBL BIS 3 standard, enabling automated, secure, and structured processing of accounting data.
The Peppol network
To facilitate the sending and receiving of electronic invoices, it is recommended to register your company on the secure and centralized Peppol network.
By registering your company on the Peppol network:
- Secure transmission of your electronic invoices
- Traceability of exchanges
- Checking of errors before transmission
- Automated exchange of UBL invoices
